Archie #1 is an amazing fresh start

I need to admit that until last week, I had never read an Archie comic book. Although the character is well-know in the US and some other English speaking countries, it was never published in Brazil, and it's safe to say that only a few people might have read it. But at least for me, that's past now because with the title's relaunch, with new art and storyline, I finally decided to give it a shot.

With a gorgeous art by Fiona Staples, and a great new story by Mark Waid, Archie #1 is a reboot of the characters that people already knew, taking them to the 21st century and giving them a fresh start. And it's now only the drawings and story that are more contemporary: the way the characters behave, and the way that Archie breaks the 4th wall to talk with the readers, are all up-to-date, making the comic enjoyable and relatable to both a younger and older audience.

It's an usual school comedy-drama comic with all the elements we expect: a romantic problem, some mystery, gossip, friends trying to help each other, prom queen and king, and even a band. So, if you like this kind of story, I highly recommend that you check the new Archie comics. I know that I'll be reading #2 next month!
