Doctor Who - The Four Doctors

This is a 5 issue event that was published weekly (except the last issue) since August 12th. It features the 10th, 11th and 12th doctors, along with their companions.

Series: Doctor Who - The Four Doctors

Art by: Neil Edwards
Written by: Paul Cornell
Synopsis: It's the greatest Doctor Who comics crossover event of all time, as the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth incarnations of the Doctor come face to face for the first time ever! When an unseen enemy maneuvers the three Doctors into an impossible meeting, the future of the universe itself is put at stake. It will take all of the Doctor's innate cunning and adaptability to team up with his past and present selves to uncover the immensely powerful culprit!

The story starts with the War Doctor talking to the Voord, in a prequel that sets the background for the main story. Then, we got Clara Oswald trying to prevent an encounter of the last three doctors. Of course, it ends up with them meeting, in a 1920s café in Paris.

I really enjoyed this comic: seeing the 12th doctor alongside the 10th and 11th incarnations is really great, making he looks like a grumpy grandpa dealing with his stubborn teenage grandchildren.

The only downside of this comic is that I expected more of the War Doctor, so every issue I was wondering when he'll appear again. But one can still hope for more War Doctor appearances, right?

The Good
  • Multi-doctor event! Yay!
The Bad
  • You'll end up wanting to know more about what Clara will do to make the story happen.

New TV Shows - Fall 2015

The new TV season is here, and as always, there'll be some great new shows premiering. So let's take a look at some that I want to watch!

Scream Queens

OMG, I just love Skyler Samuels, and when I discovered that she'll be back on TV, I immediately added the show to my watchlist. Scream Queens is a comedy-horror anthology series, and the first season focuses on the Kappa sorority, led by Chanel Oberlin (Roberts), that is threatened by dean Cathy Munsch (Curtis). That leads to events that reignites a 20-year old murder mystery, with the reemergence of the Red Devil.

Blindspot

Jaaaaaimie Alexander. I'll always remember her as Jessi in Kyle XY (I loved that show). After watching the trailer, I had to put it on my watchlist too. The plot: A woman (Jaimie Alexander) wakes up naked in Times Square with no memory of who she is. With the help of an FBI agent, she uses the tattoos on her body as clues to figuring out her identity. Ok, so there'll be mystery and action. I'm in!

Supergirl

Just.... Supergirl! What else can I say?

That it for now, folks! Stay tuned for more interesting TV Shows, and for the First Impressions posts. See ya!

Friday Reads #4 - The Forbidden Library by Django Wexler

Look at what arrived this week! After a long time waiting to buy it, and a long time waiting for it to arrive, now I finally have it. So that's what I'll be reading this weekend (I already started, and it's so good :D)

The Forbidden Library (The Forbidden Library #1)

Author: Django Wexler
Genres and Tags: Books about Books, Fantasy, Magic, Adventure, Cats, Library, Children > Middle Grade / Juvenile
Synopsis: The Forbidden Library kicks off a brand new classic fantasy series perfect for fans of Coraline, Inkheart, and The Books of Elsewhere!

Alice always thought fairy tales had happy endings. That—along with everything else—changed the day she met her first fairy.
When Alice's father disappears in a shipwreck, she is sent to live with her uncle Geryon—an uncle she's never heard of and knows nothing about. He lives in an enormous manor with a massive library that is off-limits to Alice. But then she meets a talking cat. And, even for a rule-follower, when a talking cat sneaks you into a forbidden library and introduces you to an arrogant boy who dares you to open a book, it's hard to resist. Especially if you're a reader to begin with. Soon Alice finds herself INSIDE the book, and the only way out is to defeat the creature imprisoned within.

It seems Uncle Geryon is more than he says he is. But then, so is Alice.
