Revival Vol. 1: You're Among Friends

What if the dead came back to life? But not like the usual flesh-eating, brain-lover zombies we all know, but like a regular living person. That's what you'll discover in Revival - A rural noir by Tim Seeley + Mike Norton.

The Beauty #2: Things get ugly

The Beauty is surely a very creative series. It's story revolves around two detectives investigating an STD that makes people beautiful. But things are not perfect because as the couple discovers on this second issue, people infected with 'the beauty' may be exploding, and that's not good.

Archie #3: Enters Veronica Lodge

This new series is my first experience with Archie, and as I told you before, I'm loving it. Now, after meeting our 'heroes' and knowing a little about Archie and Betty's relationship, on this 3rd issue we finally got to see Veronica interacting with Archie, Betty and the others.

Veronica is completely egocentric and self-absorbed, turning Archie into her personal puppy-butler. That makes Jughead really worried about his best friend, and he asks Betty to do something. Betty, of course, doesn't want to get involved, but after trying to help Veronica with an incident and getting snubbed, only to watch Archie being treated like a puppet again, now things get personal.

I loved this issue and the end makes me really excited to see what the future reserves for Veronica, Betty, Archie and Jughead. Good luck Veronica, because now Betty wants revenge!

Doctor Who - The Four Doctors

This is a 5 issue event that was published weekly (except the last issue) since August 12th. It features the 10th, 11th and 12th doctors, along with their companions.

Series: Doctor Who - The Four Doctors

Art by: Neil Edwards
Written by: Paul Cornell
Synopsis: It's the greatest Doctor Who comics crossover event of all time, as the Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth incarnations of the Doctor come face to face for the first time ever! When an unseen enemy maneuvers the three Doctors into an impossible meeting, the future of the universe itself is put at stake. It will take all of the Doctor's innate cunning and adaptability to team up with his past and present selves to uncover the immensely powerful culprit!
Links: Amazon, BookDepository, GoodReads
The story starts with the War Doctor talking to the Voord, in a prequel that sets the background for the main story. Then, we got Clara Oswald trying to prevent an encounter of the last three doctors. Of course, it ends up with them meeting, in a 1920s café in Paris.

I really enjoyed this comic: seeing the 12th doctor alongside the 10th and 11th incarnations is really great, making he looks like a grumpy grandpa dealing with his stubborn teenage grandchildren.

The only downside of this comic is that I expected more of the War Doctor, so every issue I was wondering when he'll appear again. But one can still hope for more War Doctor appearances, right?

The Good
  • Multi-doctor event! Yay!
The Bad
  • You'll end up wanting to know more about what Clara will do to make the story happen.

My Pull List #1 - 08/12/15 [#NewComicBookDay]

Another week, another bunch of comics to buy, read or put on the stack to read later. And now that I'm using League of Comic Geeks to manage the comics I want to read, everything is way easier.

Black Canary is dangerously great

As I continue my journey to discover great new comics, the next series on my list was Black Canary, another DC Comics new series. Yes, I'm really going to try a bunch of these new DC titles. Black Canary is another character that I was interested but never read anything with them. Now that she has her own series, it's easier for me to try something.

The new Starfire comics is adorable and plain fun

Now that Convergence is finished, DC is publishing new titles, and I'm going to give some of them a try. That's mainly because there are characters that I was always interested but didn't want to try to catch up with a lot of back issues and continuity. So, one of the comics that I'll be reading (or at least trying) is Starfire!

Archie #1 is an amazing fresh start

I need to admit that until last week, I had never read an Archie comic book. Although the character is well-know in the US and some other English speaking countries, it was never published in Brazil, and it's safe to say that only a few people might have read it. But at least for me, that's past now because with the title's relaunch, with new art and storyline, I finally decided to give it a shot.

Comic Book Review: Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake

This Sunday I FINALLY managed to finish reading Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake. I started reading it a while ago, when I started this blog (check this post), but didn't finished it that day, and never picked it up again. It's not that the comics isn't good, but I wasn't in the mood, and wanting to read other things, and with little to no time to read anything at all.
